Terms and Conditions

One-to-One Spanish Lessons

Lesson Duration and Scheduling

  • Each lesson lasts 55 or 85 minutes.

  • Students who take one lesson per week may only purchase the 5-lesson package.

  • If a lesson falls on a public holiday, it will be rescheduled before or after that date at a time agreed upon by both the student and the teacher.

Cancellations and Rescheduling

To ensure clear planning and support consistent progress, the following policy applies to all students:

Payment Schedule

  • Package payment dates are fixed and are not affected by cancellations or rescheduled lessons.

  • Even if a student has unused lessons remaining, the payment date for the next package stays the same.

Late Cancellations

The number of lessons that may be cancelled with less than 24 hours' notice without being permanently lost depends on the package purchased:

  • 5-lesson package: 1 late cancellation per package

  • 10-lesson package: 2 late cancellations per package

  • 20-lesson package: 4 late cancellations per package

Once this limit has been reached, the following rescheduling policy applies.

Rescheduling Lessons

  • Whenever a lesson is cancelled, the first option will always be to find another available time within the same week.

  • If this is not possible, availability will be checked during the following week.

  • If no suitable time is available during those two weeks, the lesson may still be rescheduled within the original validity period of the package. However, it is the student's responsibility to arrange a suitable replacement slot.

  • Any lesson that has not been rescheduled before the package expires will be forfeited when the next package begins.

Exceptional Rescheduling

With the teacher's prior agreement, some lessons may exceptionally be rescheduled to Friday afternoons or Saturday mornings, subject to availability.

Package Validity

(From the date of the first lesson)

To offer flexibility while encouraging regular practice, all lesson packages include a validity period.

Lessons cancelled more than 24 hours in advance are not lost and may be rescheduled at another time, provided they are taken within the package validity period. The validity periods are:

  • 5-lesson package: 7 weeks

  • 10-lesson package: 14 weeks

  • 20-lesson package: 26 weeks

This system allows lessons to be rearranged when necessary while helping students maintain a consistent learning routine and achieve better progress in Spanish.

Responsibilities

  • Both the teacher and the student are responsible for being punctual.

  • If the teacher is unable to attend a lesson, it will not be counted. Whenever possible, it will be rescheduled within the same week according to the student's availability. If this is not possible, one extra day will be added to the package validity period.

  • It is the student's responsibility to remember the scheduled lesson time.

  • If the student does not join the lesson, the teacher will remain online for 20 minutes in case the student connects or sends a message explaining the delay.

  • After those 20 minutes, the teacher will leave the meeting, and the lesson will be considered completed.

  • If the student contacts the teacher at any time before the end of the scheduled lesson, the teacher will reconnect so that the remaining lesson time can be completed.

Online Spanish Lessons for Teenagers

Target Students

These lessons are designed for students aged 12 and over.

Students under the age of 12 are only accepted if both the teacher and the student share a common language that can be used to provide instructions and explanations whenever necessary.

Teaching Approach

Lessons follow a communicative, structured, and engaging approach, carefully adapted to each student's linguistic level, learning needs, and personal goals.

To ensure effective communication throughout the learning process, it is essential that the teacher and the student share a common language (for example, English or French). This shared language is only used when additional support or clarification is needed.

If no common language is available, it may not be possible to provide lessons that meet the student's learning needs.

Materials and Resources

A wide range of teaching materials may be used throughout the course, including published coursebooks, visual resources, songs, stories, games, and other materials specifically designed for teaching Spanish to children and teenagers.

Activities are carefully selected and adapted to reflect each student's interests, age, learning style, and pace of progress.

Families are welcome to learn more about the teaching approach and, if they wish, may receive suggestions on how to support their child's learning at home.

IB Students (PYP & MYP)

For students enrolled in the International Baccalaureate Primary Years Programme (PYP) or Middle Years Programme (MYP), lessons combine the development of Spanish language skills with academic support aligned with the student's school curriculum.

Planning is carried out in accordance with the IB Learner Profile, as well as the learning approaches and objectives established by the relevant IB programme.

Lesson Length

Standard lessons last 55 minutes.

In certain cases, 45-minute lessons may be offered to students aged 10 or 11, or to learners with specific educational or attention needs. Fees are adjusted proportionally.

These lessons include 40 minutes of live instruction followed by 5 minutes dedicated to updating learning records and planning the next lesson.

Payments and Cancellations

All lessons must be paid for in advance.

Lessons may be purchased individually or in packages of 5, 10, or 20 sessions.

Lessons cancelled with less than 24 hours' notice will be considered completed.

In cases of illness or other exceptional circumstances, rescheduling may be considered at the teacher's discretion.

Invoices are available upon request.

Data Protection and Online Platforms

Lessons are delivered through secure videoconferencing platforms such as Microsoft Teams or Google Meet.

Lessons are never recorded without the explicit consent of a parent or legal guardian.

Any personal information shared by students or their families is used solely for educational and administrative purposes directly related to the lessons.

Communication with Families

Open and constructive communication with families is an important part of the learning process.

Parents and guardians will receive regular updates on the student's progress and are always welcome to ask questions or share any relevant information.

While families' input is highly valued, the teacher remains responsible for lesson planning, teaching methodology, and the overall educational structure, always taking students' individual needs into account without compromising their learning objectives.
